Nea Heraklia - The resort for the youth
A place of gathering for the youth, among others, the village of Nea Heraklia attracts every summer thousands of visitors, who prefer it for its marvellous beaches with crystal clear waters and the trendy beach bars. It is a refugee settlement, between Agios Pavlos and Nea Kallikratia, as the current residents of Nea Heraklia came from Heraklia of Marmara - ancient Perinthos. Their main occupations are tourism, agriculture and fishing, which means that you will find great tourist traffic, good wine, fresh fish and delicious seafood. In the centre of the village stands the church of Agios Georgios, whose memory is honoured on 23 April, while a significant archaeological finding - a silver reliquary of the 4th and 5th century AD, with carved scenes from the Old and New Testaments on all four sides, found in the area, is now showcased in the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki.
