Halkidiki is very gifted to have four distinct seasons, and experiences 250 days of sunshine per year. The region has very warm and dry summers, with minimal rainfall and eighteen hour sunshine. The autumns are warm, with an average amount of rainfall. The winters are cooler though with more rain than during autumn. At the mountainous villages it often snows.
Minor temperature differences occur throughout the whole year, in different parts of the peninsula. These climatic variations are affected by the altitude and latitude of the location. Average temperature is between 23°C and 34°C (73°F to 93°F) during summertime; and between 4°C to 19°C (39°F to 66°F) during the winter.
